Special Events are a very important part of any community’s quality of life, they enhance our local community, provide an economic benefit to businesses, promote cultural diversity and provide affordable entertainment. The City of Knoxville’s Office of Special Events is committed to working with event organizers and city departments to produce successful and safe events with minimal impact on the environment, surrounding neighborhoods and businesses.
This office is responsible for all special events that happen on city property within the City of Knoxville.
COORDINATING EVENTS
Special Events Coordinating meetings take place quarterly, in January, April, July, and October, on the fourth Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m. at the Knoxville Coliseum Ball Room.

*Events during Covid-19
Events taking place on property owned or leased by the City of Knoxville must follow COVID-19 Safety
guidelines. These guidelines are based on Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance. Each event organizer
must coordinate their plan with the respective venue staff and/or Special Events Office. DUE TO THE
CONTINUOUS CHANGES WITH COVID-19 GUIDANCE, THE CITY OF KNOXVILLE MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL
SAFETY REGULATIONS AND MAY CANCEL YOUR EVENT AT ANY TIME FOR SAFETY REASONS.
