The City of Knoxville operates several recycling supercenters in cooperation with Kroger.

Recycling Drop-off Supercenters Collect:
  • #1-#7 plastic containers (narrow neck, labeled on bottom)
  • aluminum cans
  • steel cans
  • mixed paper (any type of material that is 100 percent paper including phone books, catalogs, magazines and cereal boxes)
  • clear glass
  • brown glass
  • green glass
  • cardboard (flattened)
  • newspaper (including inserts)
  • reusable household goods
  • household batteries (lithium, ni-cad, and rechargeable only)

    Recycle Now!Not Recyclable:
  • Certain types of narrow-neck plastic containers, such as pesticides/herbicides, motor oil and antifreeze bottles
  • Window glass, broken windshields, light bulbs or any type of porcelain or crystal
  • Carbon paper, the wire on spiral notebooks and plastic bags

  • NORTH: Kroger at I-640 Plaza - 4440 Western Ave. at Clinton: More Info | Get Directions
  • SOUTH: Goodwill at W. Moody Ave. - 225 W. Moody Ave: More Info | Get Directions
  • EAST: Goodwill at Chilhowee Park - 210 Alice St.: More Info | Get Directions
  • WEST: Kroger at Bearden Knox Plaza - 4918 Kingston Pike - Knox Plaza: More Info | Get Directions This center closed on June 7, 2013 to make room for a Kroger Gas Facility. Residents may use the Recycling Center at Kroger at 341 Parkvillage Rd. off Cedar Bluff or the I-640 Plaza - 4440 Western Ave at any time. There is also a non-city affiliated Goodwill recycling facility at 5307 Kingston Pike that takes cardboard and plastics.
