City residents can recycle obsolete computers and computer game systems
by:
Having obsolete equipment picked up at your home through the City
and Waste Connection's Bulky Waste program. Bulky waste - no more
than five items - are collected at normal garbage pick-up dates.
Taking equipment to the Solid Waste Transfer Station, 1033 Elm
St., 865-215-6700. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and, Friday
- 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday - 7 a.m. to 12 Noon. Saturday - 8 a.m.
to 12 Noon.
Cost: Free for up to two computers at one time for City and Knox
County residents.
REMOVE DATA FROM THE HARD DRIVE:
Be sure to erase any data, especailly personal data from hard
drives before recycling any computer systems.
Businesses with 100 computers or less:
Transport to the Solid Waste Transfer Station, 1033 Elm St., 865-215-6700.

Wednesday - 7 a.m. to 12 Noon Saturday - 8 a.m. to 12 Noon.
Maximum of 25 computers per month accepted
Cost: $7 per monitor; $3 per PC and peripherals including keyboard, mouse,
printer.

businesses with 100 or more computers:
Contact 5R Processors Recycling Center representative for proper
disposal at 877-663-9278.
All computers are delivered by the city to 5R Processors Recycling
Center, where they are refurbished for reuse or recycled into new
products.
