From the Center,
We had an incredibly busy and fun time at the craft center this summer. Many of our youth camps were sold out with creative students exploring the arts. Pottery, painting, yoga, and belly dancing were some of the adult favorites. Following a deep clean and some fresh paint to spruce things up, we’re ready to entice you with some great new classes for fall.
The craft center is pleased to announce Mark Smothers and Mike Naney as our two featured artists this session. Mark’s paintings will be on display through August. Mark has been teaching oil painting classes with K.A.F.C.C. for the last eight years. His teaching style is encouraging and challenging for students of all levels. His commissioned pieces as well as his own unique designs are some of the best I’ve seen in the area. He has an incredible ability to capture his subjects remarkably well. From September through November, photographer Mike Naney will be our featured artist. His photography exhibit focuses on the beauty of earth and science. I was so impressed with Mike’s portfolio I can’t wait to see the complete exhibit in its entirety. This is one show you won’t want to miss!
City employees remember that Knoxville Arts and Fine Crafts Center has a special rate just for you! Show us your city I.D. and receive a 25% discount off your next fitness class.
Hope to See You!
