October 16, 2006 - Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Police Chief Sterling Owen today named Vicki Dagnan the Civilian Employee of the Month for August. Ms. Dagnan has been with the department since February 1995 and is currently assigned to Safety City.

Chief Owen said in early August the department was preparing for the arrival of the CALEA assessors. The assessors are responsible for reviewing the police department's policies and procedures in addition to inspecting the department's facilities. Ms. Dagnan volunteered her time to clean and design new displays for the main entrance of the Safety Building.

Mayor Haslam, Vicki Daganan, Chief OwenChief Owen said, "Ms. Dagnan accomplished the task in just a short amount of time. She sacrificed her personal time in cleaning, designing, and setting up the displays. Through her displays, she presented a positive image of the department to the assessors and to the general public."

Mayor Haslam said, "We thank Ms. Dagnan for volunteering to undertake this enormous task. She has worked diligently to provide a creative showcase for the department."
Ms. Dagnan will receive a signed certificate from the Mayor and Chief along with a free dinner from Ruby Tuesday Restaurant.
