Public comment sought on World's Fair Park buildings
April 23, 2004 - The city of Knoxville is seeking public input to aid in determining the future of city-owned assets at World's Fair Park.
Those assets include the Tennessee Amphitheater, Sunsphere, Knoxville Convention & Exhibition Center, Candy Factory and Victorian Houses.
"The buildings, should they be renovated or redeveloped, have the potential to add to the vitality of downtown Knoxville and enhance surrounding neighborhoods," said Mayor Bill Haslam. "I am looking forward to hearing ideas and suggestions about how the city should proceed."
The public is invited to comment beginning today through June 7.
Public tours of the World's Fair Park will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 and Thursday, May 6 beginning at the Security Building on World's Fair Park Drive.
