Caswell Park provides a wealth of recreation to East Knoxville. The softball complex offers 4 large softball fields with lights. The complex also features Sam Anderson Pavilion, which was designed to coinside with the architecture of the area's neighborhood homes. The pavilion is surrounded by a wrap-around porch with rocking chairs, and has concessions, restrooms, and a top-of-the-line press box.
Ashley Nicole Dream Playground, Knoxville's first totally accessible playground, is located in Caswell Park, across from the softball complex. Included with the large playground are accessible restrooms and a shelter that can be reserved by calling 3-1-1.
Ridley-Helton Baseball Field resides on the west end of Caswell Park. The field, then known as Ridley Field, was orginally part of Bill Meyer's Stadium, the former home of the Knoxville Smokies. Todd Helton, Knoxville native and current first baseman for the Colorado Rockies, donated money for the field's improvements. Ridley-Helton Baseball Field is available for reservations. Please call 865-215-1407.
