KPD Receives Teen Driver Safety Grant from State Farm
On Saturday, June 15 at 10 a.m., State Farm will present the city of Knoxville with a Teen Driver Safety grant of $15,000.
The grant will be used to implement the Training Responsibility Awareness Confidence Knowledge (T.R.A.C.K.) training program to teens.

Public Meeting July 2
The City of Knoxville and Knox County will hold a public meeting regarding the Bureau of Justice Assistance, 2013 Justice Assistance Grant application on July 2 from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the Knoxville Police Department, 800 Howard Baker Jr. Drive, Knoxville, TN 37915. Copies of the plan will be available for review at the public meeting. Written comments will be received until July 8, 2013 and should be sent to Knoxville Police Department, Planning and Grants Office, P.O. Box 3610, Knoxville, TN 37927.

The City of Knoxville, Knoxville Police Department, Fraternal Order of Police and other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies held a joint Peace Officers Memorial Service on Friday, May 17 in the Mary Costa Plaza outside of the Knoxville Civic Auditorium/Coliseum to honor National Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Cold Case Investigator and Officer Responsible for Multiple DUI Arrests Share Officer of the Year Honor
Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Police Chief David Rausch named Cold Case Investigator Jeff Day and Patrol Officer Jeff Green the 2012 Co-Officers of the Year for the Knoxville Police Department. Investigator Day has been with the department since December 1998 while Officer Green has been with KPD since August 2008.

Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Police Chief David Rausch named Brenda Hicks the 2012 Civilian Employee of the Year for the Knoxville Police Department. Ms. Hicks has been with KPD since April 2001 and is currently assigned to the Safety Education Unit.
