Domestic Violence Case Coordinator Named Knoxville Police Department’s Civilian Employee of the Year
Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Police Chief Sterling Owen today named Jackie Roberts the 2008 Civilian Employee of the Year for the Knoxville Police Department. Ms. Roberts is the Domestic Violence Case Coordinator and has been with the department since June 2003.

Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Police Chief Sterling Owen named Tom Sparks the December Civilian Employee of the Month for the Knoxville Police Department. Mr. Sparkes is the police department’s Maintenance Crew Leader and has been with the department since October 2000.

Dedication to Duty Earns Special Recognition for Three Employees
Mayor Haslam, honorees, Chief Owen
Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Police Chief Sterling Owen honored Karen Ellis, Danielle Wieberg, and Carrie Perry for their dedication to the department and the citizens of Knoxville. Chief Owen said the NCIC Unit is comprised of nine Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) certified operators. During the past several months the department has been operating with seven operators. The NCIC Unit must operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To maintain this essential coverage, it required the department to either pay overtime or for the employees to make sacrifices.

Creation of Data Entry and Tracking Programs Earns Employee Award
Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Police Chief Sterling Owen today named Jack Hampson the Civilian Employee of the Month for February. Hampson has been with the Knoxville Police Department since October 2006.
