To obtain permit:

1. Complete Blasting Permit Application [PDF]

2. Provide Bond or Certificate of Liability Insurance for $1,000,000.00

3. Provide copy of a current Company Registration Certificate with company name, address, and expiration date

4. Provide a legible copy of the current Explosive ID certificate for every blaster on site

5. Submit all above listed documentation and a permit fee (cash or check made payable to City of Knoxville) of $100.00 to:

Blasting permits issued by the Fire Prevention Bureau are valid for thirty days.

The City of Knoxville Fire Marshal will assign a Fire Inspector to monitor ALL blasts within the City Limits.

Blasting operations shall be conducted weekdays during daylight hours ONLY. Companies may request to conduct blasts on Saturday or Sunday but must make special arrangements through the Fire Marshal's Office. Special arrangements include, but are not limited to, the blasting company's responsibility for overtime payment to the Fire Inspector assigned to monitor the blast.

Must agree to observe all applicable federal, state, and NFPA regulations for blasting operations
