Position: Diesel Mechanic

Job description: Repair and maintain all transit vehicles .

Minimum Requirements:

The prime candidate will have experience in:

• Repair of diesel, gasoline or alternative fueled engines.
• Repair of hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems.
• Favorable background check required.
• Graduation from mechanical trade or vocational school and training at manufacturer's schools or courses is highly desirable.

Must also possess the ability to operate all types of equipment owned and operated by the transit system.  Ability to operate a forklift.  Must possess a valid State of Tennessee Commercial Driver's License, Class "B" with a passenger endorsement.


Education & Experience:

High school diploma, graduation from trade or vocational school, or posses a GED certificate. Additional training at manufacturer's schools, courses or seminars is highly desirable.
