Get Help FAST!

Knoxville Area Transit is pleased to announce its participation in the Safe Place program. ALL KAT buses are now designated as Safe Places for youth in crisis. Any youth in crisis can now board any KAT bus and ask for help; a trained volunteer from the Runaway Shelter will be sent to help immediately. It's that easy!

Why Kids Need Safe Place:
Safe Place is an outreach program of the Runaway Shelter--Youth face all sorts of difficult situations, such as abuse, neglect, drug or alcohol problems (their own or a family member's), thoughts of suicide...they may find themselves in a dangerous situation on a date, or riding with an unsafe driver. Safe Place provides youth with the support and resources they need to get through these crises.
