FESTIVAL ON THE 4TH - WEDNESDAY, JULY 4TH, 2012

The City of Knoxville's Festival on the Fourth presented by OneMain Financial promises once again to deliver a wide variety of family fun including entertainment, activities and treats at the City of Knoxville’s Fourth of July celebration.

The free festival begins at 2 p.m. and ends at approximately 10 p.m. at the conclusion of the fireworks display.

This year our festival will kick off with a Patriotic Bike Parade at 2:00pm. The Bike Parade is for ages 3-12, wagons, strollers and wheelchairs are welcome, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Participants will meet at the World's Fair Park Playground at 1:00 pm, and at 2:00 pm will parade along World's Fair Park Drive to the Amphitheater. There will be a contest for the best decorated rider and best decorated bike for each age group, 3-5, 6-9, 10-12. Please fill out a registration form and return it to the Special Events office.

Throughout the day festival goers will be treated to good music, good food, good fun and good times on the Festival and Performance lawns of the Worlds' Fair Park. Regal's Star Spangled Kids Zone is sure to please kids of all ages.

Starting at 8 p.m., the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will begin the 28th Annual Pilot Independence Day Concert on the World’s Fair Park’s Performance Lawn. The two-hour show features the KSO performing a mix of patriotic and Americana pieces. Conducted by KSO Musical Director Lucas Richman, this medley will be the perfect accompaniment to the fireworks spectacular.

Fireworks start at 9:35 p.m.

3:30 PM to 4:15 PM	Carib Sound Steel Band- In tribute to the 30th Anniversary of the World's Fair, we are bringing back part of the original band that played during the World's Fair!
4:30 PM to 5:15 PM	Hot Dixie Land Jazz Band
5:30 PM to 6:15 PM	Sean McCollough and the Kidstuff Band
6 PM	In Tribute to the 30th Anniversary of the World's Fair, we invite you to join us at the WDVX Stage for the Chicken Dance with Freddy Smith!
6:30 PM to 7:25 PM	Featured band The Black Cadillacs

7:30 PM	A Special Tribute to America including National Anthem, ceremonial "fly-over" sponsored by the Air National Guard, and a special demonstration from the City of Knoxville's Police Department SWAT Team and Knox County Sheriff's Department
8:00 PM	Knoxville Symphony Orchestra performs patriotic and Americana pieces on the Performance Lawn Stage.
