FESTIVAL ON THE 4TH
Festival on the FourthCelebrate the Fourth of the July on Friday July 4, 2008 at the World's Fair Park starting at 2 p.m.

Event Schedule:

2:00 p.m. - Opening ceremonies in the Amphitheater.

Enjoy the "Let Freedom Ring Ceremony" which includes Presentation of Colors from the KPD & KFD Combined Color Guard and First Presbyterian Church Hand Bell Ensemble Medley of Patriotic Songs

Enjoy the "Star Spangled Kids Zone" with an arts and crafts tent, inflatable games, magicians, clowns, puppet shows and a balloon artist. A variety of food vendors will open for attendees to indulge in their favorite treats.

3:00 p.m. - Local musical favorites take the stage and excite the crowd. Continuous entertainment until 8 p.m. on the WDVX Stage on the Festival Lawn.

On the WDVX Stage:

3:00 PM - Freddy Smith and Friends (Comedy, Dancing and Chicken Strutting).
4:00 PM - Wade Hill and the Hillians (Hot Rockin Hillbilly Bluegrass and Country).
5:00 PM - The Mitch Rutman Group (Jazz & Rock Fusion)
6:00 PM - The Lonetones (Appalachian Acoustic Folk Pop)
7:00 PM - Brother John Meyers (Soul, Country and More)

8:00 p.m. - 24th Annual Free Independence Day Concert on the main stage on the south lawn featuring the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.

9:35 p.m. - Fireworks begin!

Free parking is available in lots around the World’s Fair Park: 11th Street parking garage, ADAparking at Fort Kid parking lot, World’s Fair Park parking lot, Blackstock and Locust Street Garage. No shuttle buses from the Coliseum.

For more information, call the Knoxville Office of Special Events at 865-215-4248. Please no pets, no coolers and no alcohol. Food and beverages are available throughout the park.
