Facade Improvement Program
On July 22nd the City of Knoxville held a public meeting to update the community on plans for future projects in Downtown North and to receive comments on those plans. Over 50 people were in attendance and all the comments received were positive. Below is a brief summary of the topics covered:

N. Gay St.: Detail design work has begun for the 300 & 600 blocks. The goal is to finalize the work this summer and put out to bid this fall. Money is available to construct this project.

N. Central St.: Detail design for those changes should begin late this summer while sources of funding for construction are pursued.

I-275 Business Park: Plans for connecting several local roads into a unified road system to help developed abandoned or under utilized industrial properties along the I-275 spine were discussed. More detail planning for this project will occur this year. Money is available to construct portions of this project.

Broadway at 5th Ave.: A decorative crosswalk will be installed this year at this intersection.
