About Our Neighborhood
The Prospect Place neighborhood is located in East Knoxville in close proximity to Morningside Park and several historically African American churches. The composition of the neighborhood is diverse but is predominantly African American. Age ranges from families with very young children to elderly persons as well. This range has led to much discussion and passing of important historical data. For instance, many of the elderly members have lived on Prospect Place since they were children themselves. The purpose of the group is to create an increased level of awareness and camaraderie within the neighborhood. The goal being to make all neighbors feel as if they are part of something positive and know they are able to count on their neighbors for support and safety as a whole.
