"My Front Yard" will provide loans of up to $4,999 (forgivable over a 5-year term) for a wide variety of exterior needs, including front-yard landscaping, gutters, roof repair or replacement, porches, accessibility ramps, and exterior siding, painting, and lighting. The home must meet minimum housing standards.
For homeowner applicants, certain household income guidelines apply, along with a number of other eligibility requirements, before an applicant can be approved for financing. Landlords are required to match the MFY contributions dollar for dollar.
The house to be repaired must be located on the following streets in the South Knoxville community: Barrar, Barron, Blount, Childress, Drinnen, Edgar, Fair Lawn, Flenniken, Henry, Volena, and certain addresses on Martin Mill Pike and Moody Ave.
Qualified contractors can submit an application to be added to the Dept. of Community Development's pre-approved contractors list. Those who would like to become qualified can learn more about local organizations that can provide assistance in meeting the requirements.
