Checklist for Homebuyers
Step One:
You will need to apply for a mortgage loan. Ask your lender to give you a pre-approval.
Step Two:
You also need to complete a Homeownership Education Training Class. Your training provider will give you a Certificate for your participation. See list of training providers below.
Step Three:
Submit the completed Down Payment Assistance application and the documentation listed below. Once you are determined eligible, you will receive a down payment pre-approval letter.
Step Four:
Once you have completed step three, you will need to contact our office.
*NOTE: Funds are not reserved until a sales contract is executed and the Community Development inspection is approved.
The following documents are required to process your application:
Current pay stubs from all employed household members
Name and address of employer(s)
Verification of any other type of household income, such as child support, social security, retirement, etc.
Current bank statement(s) for all checking and saving accounts
Current statement(s) from all retirement and/or investment accounts (stocks, bonds, CD’s, IRA’s, 401K, etc.)
Copy of your sales contract, if you already have one. This is not required for eligibility.
Income Requirements: Household income is the total of all income for all household members.
Total household income must be below the following amounts to be eligible:
