There may have been some regulatory changes to the CDBG rules and program components. Please refer to www.hud.gov for updated information.

Applications will be accepted from non-profit agencies for activities that fall within two eligible categories:
1. Housing improvement projects, including emergency and minor home repair and
2. Planning and design technical assistance to non-profit and community organizations.

Matching funds (cash or in-kind contributions) will be required for all projects.

In order for an application to be considered for funding, a representative from your agency must attend a mandatory CDBG technical assistance workshop.  The workshop will be held:

Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 11:30 a.m.
L.T. Ross Center, Multipurpose Room Side B
2247 Western Avenue
Knoxville, TN 37921

The application submission deadline is 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, February 10, 2014 to the Community Development office. Notification of funding award will take place in late Spring, with funding effective from July 2014 through June 2015.*

If you have any questions or would like to discuss a potential project, please feel free to call Linda Rust at 865-215-2120 or by email at lrust@cityofknoxville.org.

* HUD Notice CPD-13-010, issued December 13, 2013: Congress has not completed the appropriations process for HUD's FY2014 appropriation. At this time, HUD cannot predict when its FY2014 appropriations bill will be enacted and when it will be able to announce FY2014 allocation amounts. Similarly, HUD cannot provide estimated FY2014 allocation amounts for grantees to use for planning purposes in developing action plans. HUD advises grantees to not submit its consolidated plan/action plan until the FY2014 formula allocations have been announced. Therefore, the dates above may change.
