Interpreters are provided for shows in which individuals have made a request for interpreters pursuant to the following:

Purchasing tickets:

Individuals may call the Coliseum Ticket Office to purchase tickets Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The numbers are: (865) 544-5394 (TTY) and (865) 544-5388 (Voice).

Ticket purchases must be made at least fourteen (14) business days in advance of the Show's date to allow all scripts, music sheets, or other pertinent information, to be forwarded to the interpreters for the purpose of practicing the Show's materials.

Seating:

A block of seating consisting of 20 (twenty) seats is reserved for patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing in Sections C, D, E (right center,) in the Auditorium and in Section 5A in the Coliseum. This seating is reserved until two weeks prior to the Show, at which time, if no patrons have purchased tickets and requested an interpreter, the sections' tickets are sold to the general public consistent with all other seats.

Seating map available upon request.

In the event that a show runs for more than one day, one show will be scheduled to be interpreted. If possible, the chosen date will be on the weekend. For example, if a show runs from Wednesday through Saturday, the interpreted show will likely be Friday or Saturday.

The show intended to be interpreted will be advertised in the same manner as other shows (i.e. newspaper.) In addition, a mailing list is compiled of mailing and electronic addresses of people who wish to be made aware of upcoming interpreted shows. These people will be notified more than two weeks prior to the Show=s date. (No telephone notifications will be made.)

Note: If you would like to be added to this list, please call the Coliseum Ticket Office,or email Stephanie Brewer Cook at scook@cityofknoxville.org to make a request.

Copies of these policies are made available by request by contacting the Coliseum Ticket Office.
