The successful recruitment, retention and expansion of businesses are priorities for Mayor Rogero and her administration. The Mayor created the Office of Business Support to help the business community navigate city regulations, policies and departments, making it easier to do business in Knoxville. The Business Liaison heads this office and reports to Eddie Mannis, Deputy to the Mayor and Chief Operating Officer.

With an aim to improve relationships with businesses from all sectors, the office interacts with business owners on a variety of issues and helps the City to be more responsive to their needs.

The office also heads up the Business Advisory Council, which is composed of a diverse group of business owners, who meet on a quarterly basis. Members serve two-year terms to insure that, over time, a large number of representatives from the Knoxville business community have a voice and to encourage new perspectives.
