Knoxville Knox County Community Action Committee Web Site

The board of directors of the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee is responsible for ensuring all programs comply with the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 and the Community Services Block Grant Act. The board is responsible for securing maximum participation from residents in the areas where programs are implemented. The board may appoint persons to senior staff positions, determine fiscal and program policies, and assure compliance with conditions of and approve proposals for financial assistance from available sources.

Appointment of Board Members
The board is composed of 30 members. Ten members must be public officials and ten members are elected by neighborhood organizations that represent low-income individuals and families. These members must live in the area they represent. The remainder of the board consists of representatives, selected by the board, from interest groups in the community.
Meetings Schedule
Committee meets monthly on the fourth Thursday at 10 a.m. in the CAC offices at at L.T. Ross Building, 2247 Western Avenue.
