Young-Williams Animal Center
Through a cooperative agreement between the City and the County, a non-profit corporation, governed by a board of directors, has been created to oversee the day-to-day activities of the Animal Welfare Center.
The board and staff members of the animal center focus on adoptions and educational programs, especially the importance of spaying and neutering pets to prevent animal overpopulation.

Four (4) members are appointed by the county Mayor, with majority approval of the County Commission. One (1) member is appointed by the County Commission and the final member (1) is appointed by the Knoxville Academy of Veterinary Medicine. Terms are for three years. Members can serve no more than two consecutive terms.
