The City's Health, Education and Wellness Center (The Center) is located at 1405 Loraine Street, but also has satellite locations at Room 566 in the City/County Building, in the Safety Building, and in the Public Service offices at the Loraine Street Complex as well as a Physical Therapy facility at 3101 Morris Avenue.

On-site Medical Service Provider

The City contracts with Summit Medical Group to administer the City's on-site medical services, including both health services and occupational medicine. In addition to employees, many health and wellness services are also provided for spouses, retirees and in some cases children covered by the City's Medical Insurance.


The Center is open Monday through Friday 7 AM to 4 PM. It is closed between 11 AM to 12 PM for lunch. Employees should call The Center at 865-215-6150 to schedule an appointment.

Services include:

  • Administration of physical activity, health education and other requirements of the City's medical insurance plan.
  • Annual Health Screenings
  • Case Management for Worker Injuries
  • Health/Chronic Disease Counseling
  • Physical Therapy for Worker Injuries
  • Police/Fire Annual Medical Exams
  • Primary Treatment of Worker Injuries
  • Treatment of Acute Injuries/Illnesses
  • Wellness Education

    REMEMBER: The Center and its staff are subject to the confidentiality rules that apply to all medical providers. Care you receive at The Center does not replace treatment provided by your personal physician(s). However, the Center's staff can assist you during your scheduled appointment in researching publicly available information about your condition, treatment options, medications and other self-care information. In addition a health coach is available to provide additional support as needed.
