July 29, 2014 - The City of Knoxville's Finance Department has been recognized for its high professional standards after thorough annual evaluations by a national organization and government agency.

Finance Director Jim York and staff demonstrated practices that go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles, according to the GFOA.

"This award is a testament to all of the hard work and dedication of the Finance Department staff," York said. "I'm very proud of their exemplary work."
