KAT Route Changes Take Effect May 5

KATMay 1, 2014 - Effective Monday, May 5, several KAT route changes will take effect. Route 19: Lakeshore will have an expanded service area and a revised time schedule. This route will now extend service north on Weisgarber to the Dowell Springs medical complexes off Middlebrook.

Route 32: Dandridge will now be departing from/arriving at a different location on the Knoxville Station bus platform, and also has a slight change in the downtown routing. It will now use Summit Hill to Hall of Fame inbound.

Route 22: Broadway's Saturday schedule has been adjusted so that it will arrive at Knoxville Station at :15 after the hour, allowing passengers to transfer to other buses arriving at that time.

Also effective on May 5, the stops on Church Avenue in front of Knoxville Station (and on the opposite side of the road) will revert to Trolley Stops ONLY. All buses that are currently using these stops will drop off and pick up passengers only on the bus platform. This change was made to alleviate traffic congestion and improve pedestrian safety.

New route schedules will be available the week before changes take effect. If you need more specific information on any of these changes, you can contact one a Transit Agents at 865-637-3000.
