KUB Closes Lanes on Western Ave. and S. Gay St.

KUBApril 11, 2014 - KUB will have the following lane closures for utility maintenance:

Western Avenue Lane Closure [April 13] - KUB will close the eastbound lane on a short section of Western Avenue between Ball Camp Pike and Hinton Drive from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, as work is completed on the natural gas distribution system in this area. The westbound lane will remain open and the turn lane will be used for eastbound traffic while this work is completed. Access to driveways and other entrances/exits will remain open for local traffic and emergency vehicles on this section of Western Avenue.

S. Gay Street Lane Closure [April 14] - KUB will reduce a short section of South Gay Street to one northbound and one southbound lane between Main Street and Cumberland Avenue from 12-5 a.m. on Monday, April 14, as work is completed on the electric distribution system in this area. Alternate routes include Walnut Street and State Street. Access to driveways and other entrances/exits will remain open for local traffic and emergency vehicles on this section of Gay Street.

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
