Honored Firefighters of the 4th Quarter Announced
KFDMarch 24, 2014 - Mayor Madeline Rogero and Fire Chief Stan Sharp honored three City firefighters today as Firefighters of the 4th Quarter 2013 for their life-saving efforts during a New Year's Eve fire.

Master Firefighter and Paramedic Dean Owens, Senior Firefighter and Paramedic Greg Sauceman, and Master Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician Hugh Laxton were battling a Dec. 31 house fire at 5508 Dandyline Street when KFD Capt. Mark Lacey, a 20-year department veteran, suffered a heart attack. The immediate and skillful medical care rendered by the trio of firefighters is credited with Capt. Lacey surviving.
