TDOT Announces Two More Lanes to Open on Henley Bridge
Henley Bridge Project
February 24, 2014 - The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) announced today that two more lanes of traffic will open on the Henley Bridge this afternoon.

Two lanes of traffic in each direction will return to the bridge for the first time since January of 2011. The bridge opened to one lane of traffic in each direction last October.

On Tuesday, February 25th, crews will remove striping and repaint lines to modify the intersection at Moody Avenue and Chapman Highway. Once complete, detour signage in the project area will also be removed.

Although the bridge will be open to two lanes of traffic in each direction, work continues on the historic structure, with the due date for total project completion remaining June 3, 2014. Please use caution when traveling on the bridge as workers will be present.

Travelers can get the latest information on the Henley Bridge project by accessing our website at www.tn.gov/henley, and by following us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/HenleyBridge. For travel and TDOT construction information, visit the TDOT SmartWay web site at www.tn.gov/tdot/tdotsmartway or download the new TDOT SmartWay mobile app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store for Android. Motorists are reminded to use all motorist information tools responsibly. Drivers should refrain from texting, tweeting or using a mobile phone while operating a vehicle. TDOT advises drivers to "Know before you go!" by checking traffic conditions before leaving for your destination.
