WIVK Christmas Parade Brings Holidays Downtown Dec. 6

Christmas in the CityDecember 3, 2013 - Santa Claus is coming to town - along with floats, marching bands and all kinds of family entertainment on Friday, Dec. 6th,during the WIVK Christmas Parade sponsored by Advanced Office Systems.

The annual parade, a highlight of the Christmas in the City calendar, will step off at 6:45 p.m. on westbound Howard Baker Jr. Avenue, and proceed along Church Avenue to Gay Street and then north on Gay Street to Jackson Avenue. The route then runs east on Jackson through the Old City and across Central Street, ending near the James White Parkway overpass.

This year's parade will feature 89 participating organizations and businesses, including 39 floats and two marching bands. The parade will be broadcast live on WVLT TV from 7 to 8 p.m.
