Road Closures for Celebration of Lights Event Nov. 23
Christmas in the CityNovember 16, 2012 - The Regal Celebration of Lights kicks off festivities for Christmas in the City on Friday, Nov. 23. The lighting of the 38-foot-tall Christmas tree will take place at 6:15 p.m. in Krutch Park Extension and the WDVX Ho-Ho-Hoedown will begin on Market Square at 5 p.m. Free activities include pictures with Santa Claus, face painting, balloon art and marshmallow roasting.

Because of this event the following road closures will be in effect:

  • Gay Street will be closed between Church St. & Summit Hill from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Nov. 23 There will be Temporary No Parking during this time on Gay Street.

  • Market Street will be closed between Clinch Ave & Union Ave from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Nov. 23 There will be Temporary No Parking during this time on Market Stree.t

  • Union Avenue will be closed between Walnut and Gay St from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Nov. 23 There will be Temporary No Parking during this time on Union Avenue. Patrons for Hotel Oliver will be able to unload.
