| New Veterans Service Office Opens |
| November 5, 2012 - This morning, Mayor Madeline Rogero, Mayor Tim Burchett, Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr, State Senator Becky Duncan Massey, and other officials cut the ribbon for the new Veterans Service Office in Knox County at 1000 N. Central St. in the Knox Central Building. |

Donald Smith - Tennessee Assistant Commissioner of Veterans Affairs and members from the Rolling Thunder Tennessee Chapter 3 were also at the event.
The mission of the Veteran's Service Office is to assist Veterans and their dependents in filing applications for:
Service Connected Disability Compensation
Improved Pension Program with Housebound/Aid and Attendance
Health Benefits Enrollment
Burial Benefits, Flags, Headstones, Markers and Military Honors
Order Replacement Copies of Discharge Papers, Military Records and Service Medical Records
GI Bill, Vocational Rehabilitation and Dependents Educational Assistance
VA Insurance Programs
File Notice of Disagreements and Appeals for Denied Claims
Completing Annual EVR's (Eligibility Verification Reports) Due the first Monday in March
The office provides information to Veterans and families on all federal and state benefits earned by Veterans in their service to their country.
