Annual City Chili Challenge for Employees

October 31, 2012 - The City of Knoxville employees had their annual Chili Challenge to benefit the City's Charitable Campaign. Channel 10's Erin Donovan "Darin' Erin," Vice Mayor Nick Pavlis, and Knoxville News Sentinel's food critic Mary Constantine were the official judges of the Grand Prize - The Coveted Chili Cauldron. For a charge of $5 per person, City employees sampled and voted for the People's Choice Award and Best Presentation. Over $800 was raised for the City's Charitable Campaign. These 11 City Departments offered their chilis: Civil Service "Bootleg Blaster Chili" Community Development "Smurf-alicious Chili" Engineering "No Dumping Chili" Law "Redneck Wedding Chili" Knoxville Police Department "Nuisance Chili" Parks and Recreation "Eat Like There's No Tomorrow Chili" Finance "Jim York's Just Say No Chili" The Center "Life to the Max Chili" Public Assembly "Chilly's Chili" Communications "Harvest Moon Chili" Purchasing "The Buck Stops Here Chili"
