Road Closures & Parking for Boomsday

August 30, 2012 - The following roads will be closed for Boomsday activities this weekend.


Saturday, Sept. 1st - Monday, Sept. 3rd

Neyland Drive: Westbound and eastbound lanes from Lake Loudoun Boulevard to Walnut Street will be closed from 2 p.m. on Sept. 1st to 6 a.m. on Sept. 3rd.

Sunday, Sept. 2nd:

  • 3 p.m.: Exit from James White Parkway to Cumberland Avenue
  • 3 p.m.: Central Street at Main Street
  • 4 p.m.: Locust Street at Front Avenue (prevents traffic entering Neyland)
  • 4 p.m.: Ramp from Hall of Fame Drive to Neyland Drive
  • 9 p.m.: Gay Street Bridge closes to pedestrians
  • 9 p.m.: Poplar Street at Main Street
  • 9 p.m.: Henley Street at West Hill Avenue
  • 9:15 p.m.: Gay Street Bridge closes to vehicles

    Apart from Neyland Drive, streets will reopen after 11 p.m. Sunday.


    The following parking lots and garages will have free parking available for Boomsday:
  • Blackstock Ave. Parking Lot
  • Market Square Garage, located on corner of Walnut St. and Wall Ave.
  • Poplar Street Lot
  • State Street Garage
  • State Street Parking Lot

    The following lots and garages will charge $5 for Boomsday parking:
  • City County Building Garage, located on Hill Ave.
  • Dwight Kessel Garage, located on corner of Hill Ave. and State Street
  • Locust Street Garage
