Movies on Market Square Starts Sept. 7
Movies on Market SquareAugust 29, 2012 - Knox County Public Library's popular outdoor movie series returns to Market Square for the ninth year of free family fun in front of the silver screen! Partnering with PetSafe, this year's Movies on Market Square continues its quest to be the most pet friendly movie series ever.

To pick the line up, thousands of people cast their vote for movies in six categories - from Action/Adventure to Sports through the library's web site.

MOVIE SCHEDULE:

September 7 - Footloose (PG - 1984)
September 14 - Despicable Me (PG - 2010)
September 21 - The Adventures of Tintin (PG -2011 )
September 28 - You've Got Mail (PG - 1998)
October 5 - The Hunger Games (PG 13 - 2012)
October 12 - The Blind Side (PG 13 - 2009)

All movies are rated PG-13 or less, but parents are encouraged to check out the films to make sure they are right for their family. The series will run for six Friday nights, from September 7 through October 12.

Pre-show activities will feature pet tips and advice, as well as an array of four-legged festivities sure to please even the most sophisticated Fido. The furry fun will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the movies begin at dusk. Of course, all pets must be very well behaved, and all city rules regarding pets must be observed.

Movies on Market Square is made possible through the generous support of PetSafe, Sam's Club, The Tomato Head, Downtown Knoxville, KUB, Metro Pulse, WBIR, B97.5 and Lunar Cinemas. The Library presents Movies on Market Square to highlight its extensive collection of movies and music.
