Ribbon Cutting at Lonsdale Recreation Center Aug. 29
August 28, 2012 - Mayor Madeline Rogero and City officials will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the renovation and expansion of Lonsdale Recreation Center at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at the Lonsdale Recreation Center located at 2700 Stonewall St.

The ribbon-cutting will highlight a $500,000 expansion of the center, which adds nearly 2,500-square-feet. Most of the space is for a multi-purpose room that will host activities such as exercise classes, community meetings, and special events. Other upgrades include new ADA accessible restrooms, a new office, an updated computer lab, as well as upgraded windows, HVAC system, and flooring to improve energy efficiency.

The Knoxville Community Development Corporation contributed $150,000 toward the project, with the City covering the remainder of the renovation's costs.

The City contracted Thomas Caldwell, Architect, to design the Lonsdale Recreation Center renovation project and K&F Construction to serve as the contractor.
