Mayor Honors Summer Interns

July 23, 2012 - Mayor Rogero hosted a luncheon for interns from the City of Knoxville's "Summer in the City" high school intern program. Each student also received a special certificate of appreciation from the Mayor. These students worked for four weeks from July 2 - 27 where they were assigned to a specific department. The interns worked approximately 10 hours per week and met weekly for an hour to discuss topics like resume writing, interviewing, business etiquette, and more.

The "Summer in the City" interns: Brandelyn Epes Brandelyn spent four weeks working in the Community Development Department under the supervision of Angela Mayes. She will be a Junior at Powell. Brianna Evans Brianna spent four weeks working in Building Inspections under the supervision of Rob Clark. She will be a Senior at Fulton. Romelia Franciso Romelia spent four weeks working with the Police Department under the supervision of Vicki Dagnan. She will be a Senior at Fulton. Daniel Hamilton Daniel spent four weeks working with the Communications Department under the supervision of Jesse Mayshark. He will be a Senior at Austin-East. Cheyanne Lane Cheyanne spent four weeks working with the Public Service Department udner the supervision of Chad Weth. She will be a Junior at Fulton. Preston Murphy Preston spent four weeks working with the Police Department under the supervision of Vicki Dagnan. He will be a Senior at Fulton. Cierrah Smith Cierrah spent four weeks working with the 311 Call Center under the supervision of Justin Bradley. She will be a Junior at Fulton. ShaQuan Stinson ShaQuan spent four weeks working with Risk Management under the supervision of Christine Stickler. She will be a Senior at Fulton. Dean Taylor Dean spent four weeks working with Special Events under the supervision of Judith Foltz. He will be a Senior at Fulton. Toy'Shaun Winton Toy'Shaun spent four weeks working with City Court under the supervision of Valerie Coleman. He will be a Junior at Carter.
