Knoxville Marathon This Weekend

Mayor RogeroMarch 28, 2012 - Today Mayor Madeline Rogero, Tony Spezia - Covenant Health President and CEO, Jason Altman - Knoxville Track Club, and others announced the last minute details for the Knoxville Marathon which happens this weekend.

The Covenant Kids Run and other events are on Saturday, March 31st and the Marathon, Half-Marathon, 4 Person Relay and 5K are on Sunday, April 1st.

ROAD CLOSURES INFORMATION

Knoxville MarathonThe marathon will necessitate periodic road and lane closures throughout the city and Fort Sanders/University of Tennessee campus area. In addition, parking will be prohibited on Clinch Avenue between 11th and 16th streets to accommodate the race events. Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, April 1 vehicles parked along Clinch Avenue between 11th and 16th streets will be towed. All streets are expected to be open for parking and traffic by 2 p.m. on Sunday.
