Feast with the Beasts at the Zoo this Saturday
Knoxville Zoo
August 15, 2011 - Knoxville's "wildest" party just keeps getting better with the addition of even more purveyors of East Tennessee's best food and beverages. Guests can eat, drink and dance their way throughout the zoo at Feast with the Beasts, one of the zoo's biggest fundraisers, on Saturday, August 20, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.

Feast with the Beasts at the ZooAdventurous eaters can enjoy a variety of cuisines to suit all types of palates, from appetizers to desserts, at more than 40 tents throughout the zoo. Participating vendors include Ole Smoky Distillery, Brixx Pizza, Highland Brewing Company, Latitude 35, Bayou Bay Seafood House, Beans Creek Winery, Puleo's Grille, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, O'Charley's, Chandler's Deli, Sapphire Knoxville, Blue Coast Burrito and Smoky Mountain Brewery, just to name a few. Music on three stages promises to keep the evening lively. Second Opinion will entertain on the main Plaza stage, playing danceable music from classics to contemporary hits. Dream On Alice will rock the Kids Cove stage with hits from the 70's to the present and Homemade Wine will be playing songs for those who are on "island time" on the Animal Encounter Village stage. Tuatha Dea Drum Nation will be inspiring the inner drummer in everyone with a special drum experience.

Tickets for Feast with the Beasts are $60 per person in advance and $70 the day of the event. Zoo members receive a $5 discount. Want to bring the whole herd? Buy nine tickets and get the tenth ticket free! Tickets are on sale at area ORNL Federal Credit Union branches and Knoxville Zoo's ticket window during zoo hours. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.knoxville-zoo.org or by calling (865) 637-5331. Feast with the Beasts is for guests 21 years of age and over and guests must show a valid photo I.D. to enter the event. All proceeds directly benefit Knoxville Zoo. Knoxville Zoo is nationally accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and is committed to the highest standards in animal care and well-being, ethics, conservation, and education. Currently, the zoo is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission and ticket sales stop one-hour before the zoo closes.
