City's Outdoor Pools Open this Weekend

May 27, 2011 - The City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation Department will open its two outdoor pools this Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 11 a.m.

Ed Cothren Pool
1737 Reynolds St.
Season: Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day weekend
Cost: $1.50 per person per visit
Hours: Monday-Saturday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Ed Cothren Pool is a 275,000-gallon pool with one diving board and an accessible ramp. The pool’s enclosure area features two shelters and concession stands.

Inskip Pool
4204 Bruhin Road
Season: Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day weekend
Cost: $3 per person per visit - group rates are $1.50 for each person
Hours: Monday-Saturday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m - 6 p.m.

Inskip Pool is a 285,000-gallon pool with two low dives, and a high dive. The pool area also features a sand volleyball court, concession stands, and three picnic shelters.
