Nagasaki, Japan Delegation Meets with Mayor

May 20, 2011 - Mayor Brown met with a Nagasaki, Japan Delegation that is part of the Friendship Force International on Friday morning and presented them each with Honorable Citizen Certificates.

The Knoxville Friendship Force was formed 33 years ago by President Carter as a non-profit organization promoting good will and world peace through cultural understanding.

The Friendship Force will then take the eleven to visit the East Tennessee Museum, WDVX for the Blue Plate Special, lunch at Tomato Head, stops on Gay Street at the Art Market Gallery, Mast, and shopping on Market Square and an evening at the Symphony that will give them an opportunity to see the Tennessee Theatre.

The group will be in Knoxville until Tuesday and many other activities have been planned for them throughout the weekend.
