Henley Bridge Week 13 Progress
Henley Bridge Project
View Web Cams
SouthKnoxIsOpen.com
April 1, 2011 - We continue to make good progress, but there isn't much bridge demolition to report this week.

The phasing has reached a point where the next step is to re-route the traffic on Neyland Drive so that the demo work can continue above.

The contractor is concentrating on building the crossover in the median of Neyland Drive so both traffic directions can be moved to the westbound side (one lane in each direction) while the contractor works on the bridge over the eastbound side.

Henley Street Bridge ProjectThe actual traffic shift should take place sometime next week (est. April 8). In the meantime, look for temporary lane closures on Neyland Drive in both directions during non-peak hours to finish the crossover work.

Final waterline tie-ins are being made in the Chapman/Blount intersection and is expected to be complete by the end of next week, April 8. Please watch for traffic delays in this area.

If you have questions concerning the bridge, feel free to stop by the Henley Community Center or call 865-577-6988. To find out more about the project, detours, Henley Bridge history and to view the project cameras you can visit www.tn.gov/henley. You can also follow the project updates on twitter at twitter.com/HenleyBridge.
