| Electric Vehicles Forum Starts at 9:30 AM |
February 22, 2011 -
A Commercial Hosting Partners Forum for businesses interested in hosting an electric car charging station will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24 (NOTE: THE TIME HAS CHANGED. THIS EVENT WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR 10 a.m.)
at the Knoxville Chamber office at 17 Market Square.
Representatives from the City of Knoxville, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, TVA and the Knoxville Utilities Board - all partners in the Tennessee Region of the EV Project - will take part in the forum. The EV Project is a partnership between the U.S. Department of Energy, Nissan North America, General Motors and ECOtality to introduce electric vehicles in several test markets across the United States.
Knoxville is one of the test markets and will be receiving a number of publicly-accessible charging stations as part of the project.
This hosting forum is designed to give businesses and commercial property owners the information they need to decide if they would like to host a charging station.
