KPD's Halloween Event Set for Oct. 31
Halloween Event by KPDAugust 20, 2010 - The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) hosts a Halloween event each year to provide a safe alternative for families on Halloween.

The event was formerly known as Halloween in the City and was held at Safety City. Now the event is being held at Mary Costa Plaza at the Knoxville Coliseum and has been renamed to Halloween on the Plaza!

Last year, sponsors and city departments sponsored trick or treat booths with a game or activity. About 100,000 pieces of candy were handed out, as well as carnival-type trinkets. In addition, there was a magician, clowns, inflatable and carnival games, karaoke, a costume contest, snow cones, cotton candy, hot dogs and drinks. About 6,500 people came to this three-hour event.
