Solar Hot Water Installation Training Workshop Sept. 1
Solar KnoxvilleAugust 16, 2010 - A Solar Hot Water Installation Training workshop will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Modern Supply located at 525 Lovell Road.

The free workshop is set for 9 a.m. until noon and participants will learn how to install a complete solar water heating system. The workshop is being sponsored by Rheem and Modern Supply and will focus on the Rheem Solar System (SolPak).

The City of Knoxville's Solar America Cities Program supports the workshop as part of its effort to encourage the local generation of solar power.

The event is aimed primarily at plumbers but is open to all contractors and the general public - anyone who is interested in learning more about, or how to install, this solar technology.

The workshop will offer information on everything from the basics of solar and system maintenance to expected return on investment and federal tax credits available to help pay for solar hot water systems.

Space for this workshop is limited and participants must register by August 30.

For more information about the Solar Hot Water Installation Training workshop – or to register – please access Sustainability@cityofknoxville.org or call 865-215-2029.
