Ijams Offering Steps for More Sustainable Holidays
Ijams Nature CenterNovember 4, 2009 - Learn basic steps for sustainable holidays at Ijams Nature Center during their program "Science Café: Green Your Holidays" on Tuesday, November 10 from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm.

A recent poll showed that people want to have a more fulfilling and less stressful holiday season. Sometimes the most treasured gifts we can give are time, love, and energy.

In the spirit of giving, we’ve gathered some holiday ideas that create less waste and create more memories. Take this holiday season to truly commit to a more sustainable lifestyle. You’ll feel good about it, and you’ll be instilling a new ethic into family traditions.

Join us to learn fun and easy strategies for more sustainable holidays. Simple changes in the way we decorate, shop and entertain can save time, money and even the earth!

Come find out how to celebrate the season while also celebrating the planet. Participants that pre-register will receive a copy of Season’s Greenings, a guide to green holidays.

Program is free. To register call 577-4717, ext. 10.

Ijams Nature Center is located at 2915 Island Home Avenue Knoxville, TN 37920. For more information call 865-577-4717 or visit www.ijams.org.
