Third Creek Greenway Community Clean Up Nov. 8
November 4, 2009 - The City of Knoxville will hold a Third Creek Greenway Community Clean Up on Sunday, November 8, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Participants from schools, churches and scouting groups will join other interested citizens for the clean up event. The clean up will take place from the rugby fields at Fulton Bottoms to Earth Fare on Kingston Pike and volunteers will meet at the south entrance of Tyson Park.

Participants are asked to check in at Tyson Park between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to pick up supplies and receive a briefing of the day's activities. The volunteers will work in small groups on various activities and projects, including: planting, minor construction repairs, brushing, litter pickup and painting among other projects.

Members from the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee's AmeriCorps team will serve as team leaders.

Participants that volunteer at least 2 hours of their time will be entered in a drawing to win a free Earthmachine Compost bin, courtesy of the City of Knoxville Solid Waste office.

All necessary materials for the cleanup will be provided.
