City shelters available for spring/summer rental
City Parks and Recreation
April 3, 2009 - If you are celebrating a birthday, organizing a team party, getting ready for that big family reunion, or just reserving your spot in the great outdoors, Knoxville Parks and Recreation offers shelter rentals throughout the city.

For a minimal cost of $25 for four hours or $50 for a day, shelters may be reserved in Tyson, West Hills, Morningside, Holston River, Mary Vestal, Adair, Victor Ashe, Caswell, and Lonsdale parks.

All shelters feature charcoal-burning grills and most shelters can host at least 50 people.

“We have always tried to offer our shelters and community buildings at a rate that everyone can afford,” said Joe Walsh, Director of Parks and Recreation. “In these times, I expect the rentals will be more popular because the value is simply too good to pass up.”

Knoxville Parks and Recreation also offers community building rentals for $30 an hour. To reserve a shelter or community building today, please call 865-215-4311. For more information, please visit www.cityofknoxville.org/recreation .

As the Summer approaches, outdoor pool rentals will also become available. To reserve an outdoor pool, please call 865-215-1406.
