The City of Knoxville’s Community Development Department is developing the Annual Action Plan for use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships Act, and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) funds during the fiscal year that begins July 1, 2009. A draft of the plan is available on the City’s website.
At this time, the City of Knoxville has not been notified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) of the amount of funds allocated for fiscal year 2009. The amounts listed below are an estimate and subject to change pending notification by HUD. Based on last year’s allocation, the City anticipates receiving approximately $1,900,000 in CDBG, approximately $1,300,000 in HOME, and approximately $12,000 in American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The City has been notified that it can expect to receive $82,740 in ESG funds. The City also anticipates receiving $450,000 in combined CDBG and HOME program income, and will reallocate $500,000 in unspent prior year HOME funding.
