Public Meeting to Discuss 100 Block Gay Street March 11
100 Block Construction ProjectMarch 10, 2009 - The City of Knoxville will hold a public meeting updating the status of construction of the ongoing Gay Street Streetscapes project at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11 in the Commerce Lofts Conference Room at 122 S. Gay Street.

City officials and contractors will review construction from March 4-11 and discuss various issues with residents and business owners on the 100 Block of Gay Street. The 18- month-long Gay Street Streetscapes project involves the much-needed repair and reconstruction work on the underground structures supporting the block in addition to utility upgrades.

The $3.5 million project also includes the replacement of the street and both sidewalks as well as streetscape improvements.
