Tennessee Shines Live Radio Show Comes to the Bijou
July 30, 2008 - Mayor Haslam, AC Entertainment, WDVX, Knoxville Americana Music Foundation and the Maid Rite Stringband announced this afternoon the creation of a new live monthly radio show that highlights the music of Tennessee and the region.

Mayor Haslam "plays" a tune with the Maid Rite Stringband in honor of the announcement of the Tennessee Shines show coming to the Bijou Theatre
Tennessee ShinesIt will be called "Tennessee Shines" and will debut on Wednesday night, August 27, at 7 p.m. live on the stage at the Bijou Theatre and broadcasted on WDVX. It will consist of a fast paced, two hour format of high energy performances and rare collaborations.

Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Jim Lauderdale will be the host of the show and will be showcasing multiple local and national touring artists each month.

Tickets are on sale now - $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
